{"id":3037,"date":"2024-04-01T16:36:14","date_gmt":"2024-04-01T08:36:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/future-valve.com\/?post_type=product&#038;p=3037"},"modified":"2026-03-19T17:10:26","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T09:10:26","slug":"api-pipe-flanges","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/future-valve.com\/index.php\/product\/api-pipe-flanges\/","title":{"rendered":"API Pipe Flanges Manufacturer | FUTURE VALVE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/future-valve.com\/index.php\/product\/api-pipe-flanges\/\"><strong>API Pipe Flanges<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0<b>flange<\/b>\u00a0is a protruded ridge, lip or\u00a0rim, either external or internal, that serves to increase\u00a0strength\u00a0(as the flange of an\u00a0iron\u00a0beam\u00a0such as an\u00a0I-beam\u00a0or a\u00a0T-beam); for easy attachment\/transfer of\u00a0contact force\u00a0with another object (as the flange on the end of a\u00a0pipe, steam cylinder, etc., or on the\u00a0lens mount\u00a0of a\u00a0camera); or for stabilizing and guiding the movements of a\u00a0machine\u00a0or its parts (as the inside flange of a\u00a0rail car\u00a0or\u00a0tram\u00a0wheel, which keep the wheels from\u00a0running off\u00a0the\u00a0rails). The term \u201cflange\u201d is also used for a kind of tool used to form flanges.<\/p>\n<h3>ASME standards (U.S.)<\/h3>\n<div>\n<div>Two ASME type flanges, bolted together on a gas pipeline<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Pipe flanges that are made to standards called out by\u00a0ASME\u00a0B16.5 or ASME B16.47, and MSS SP-44. They are typically made from forged materials and have machined surfaces. ASME B16.5 refers to\u00a0nominal pipe sizes\u00a0(NPS) from \u00bd\u201d to 24\u2033. B16.47 covers NPSs from 26\u2033 to 60\u2033. Each specification further delineates flanges into\u00a0pressure\u00a0classes: 150, 300, 400, 600, 900, 1500 and 2500 for B16.5, and B16.47 delineates its flanges into pressure classes 75, 150, 300, 400, 600, 900. However these classes do not correspond to maximum pressures in\u00a0psi. Instead, the maximum pressure depends on the material of the flange and the temperature. For example, the maximum pressure for a Class 150 flange is 285 psi, and for a Class 300 Flange it is 740 psi (both are for ASTM A105 Carbon Steel and temperatures below 100F).<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0gasket\u00a0type and\u00a0bolt\u00a0type are generally specified by the standard(s); however, sometimes the standards refer to the ASME\u00a0Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code\u00a0(B&amp;PVC) for details (see ASME Code Section VIII Division 1 \u2013 Appendix 2). These flanges are recognized by ASME Pipe Codes such as ASME B31.1 Power Piping, and ASME B31.3 Process Piping.<\/p>\n<p>Materials for flanges are usually under ASME designation: SA-105 (Specification for Carbon Steel Forgings for Piping Applications), SA-266 (Specification for Carbon Steel Forgings for Pressure Vessel Components), or SA-182 (Specification for Forged or Rolled Alloy-Steel Pipe\u00a0<a title=\"View all posts in Flanges\" href=\"https:\/\/future-valve.com\/index.php\/product\/api-pipe-flanges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Flanges<\/a>, Forged Fittings, and Valves and Parts for High-Temperature Service). In addition, there are many \u201cindustry standard\u201d flanges that in some circumstance may be used on ASME work.<\/p>\n<p>The product range includes SORF, SOFF, BLRF, BLFF, WNRF (XS, XXS, STD &amp; Schedule 20, 40, 80), WNFF (XS, XXS, STD &amp; Schedule 20, 40, 80), SWRF (XS &amp; STD), SWFF (XS &amp; STD), Threaded RF, Threaded FF &amp; LJ, with sizes from 1\/2\u2033 to 16\u2033. The bolting material used for flange connection is\u00a0stud bolts\u00a0mated with two nut (washer when required).
